Defensive Shield
1000 Israeli servicemen participated in the five-day military operations in South Ossetia, says the study titled "The Caucasian Litmus Test: Consequences and Lessons of the Russian- Georgian War in August 2008" prepared by Swedish Defence Research Agency.
The authors of the study consider that some Israeli servicemen even directly participated in the operations.
The study says that Israeli general Gal Hirsh was among thousands of Georgian servicemen who entered the territory of South Ossetia. Gal Hirsh is the person who prepared Israel’s military operations in Lebanon. Swedish Defence Research Agency says that General Gal Hirsh prepared technical points of Georgia’s operation in Tskhinvali.
Swedish experts link high-level relations between Tel Aviv and Georgia to Israel’s preparing attack to Iran and its intention to use Georgia as place of arms.
“According to the agreement reached between Tbilisi and Tel Aviv, Georgia rented two military aerodromes to Israel. Israeli fighter jets, which will take off from these aerodromes, will make air attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities,” they say.
The study notes that another interest of Tel Aviv in Georgia is connected with oil transit line.
“Israel buys 20 percent of the oil produced in Azerbaijan’s oil fields. This oil is delivered to Adana port through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and Israel is interested in the pipeline’s operation,” the study says.
Svenska Dagbladet newspaper writes that Moscow is aware of Israeli servicemen’s participation in the military operations in South Ossetia, but has not publicized this fact in order not to damage bilateral relations with this country.

They were however often accused of providing the military strength for corporations to control natural resources in failed states or conflict-ridden areas. Where assistance was given to corporations in conflict areas, EO claims to have had the host government’s approval to provide such assistance.
These claims have been highly contested, however. Scholar James Ferguson has demonstrated how murky the political/social/economic space organizations like the EO occupy is in practice. It is often unclear. He quotes an Amnesty International report which wonders, "what legal framework, if any, [these companies] are operating within ." For example, the EO provided the military force to back the ARRC's (Africa Rainforest and River Conservation) efforts to raise its own money through trading diamonds dug up in "its" conserved territory, a practice which is certainly "paralegal" and not at all conforming to the NGO's own purported mission in the Central African Republic. As recently as 2002, Bruce Hayse, founder of the ARRC, was quoted as saying "Diamonds looked like a way to develop the project with some kind of secure financial foundation, and to provide a more equitable means for the local people to sell the diamonds they pick up." The EO case is not necessarily unique, Ferguson argues, as such "paramilitary" private militias have been employed all across the continent since IMF and World Bank reforms, which encouraged the "disengagement" of the state in favor of the "free market," left governance open to contestation among NGOs, warlords, and private firms which were able to capitalise on the newly deregulated market and rapidly deteriorating state authority.

Are civilians allowed at U.S. Training Center?
All people of goodwill are welcome at the U.S. Training Center. We are strong proponents of the Second Amendment.
Can I stay at a local motel/hotel/bed and breakfast?
Most people who train at U.S. Training Center enjoy staying at our facility for its comfort and convenience but you are more than welcome to stay at one of our local bed and breakfasts or a hotel/motel in Elizabeth City, NC or Chesapeake, VA areas.
Do you sell ammunition?
Yes, we have ammunition and a fully stocked Pro Shop.
Can I lock my gun up in your vault?
We have a large walk-in vault for you to lock up your guns if you desire.
What should I wear at U.S. Training Center for my course?
U.S. Training Center is located just miles from the coast and usually is very temperate...BUT always bring rain gear and if it is considered winter in the rest of the country then it may be winter in North Carolina, of course it may not but better to be safe than sorry.

The new food ration

Features a fabric module with increased protection level (II as per NIJ 0101.04) and steel armor panels which ensure protection of the vital organs to Level III as per NIJ 0101.04 and Level V as per GOST R 50744-95 Russian standard.
The armor panels are made of a new armor steel Grade 56.
